Default & Forfeit Policy

When you register a team, you are committing to attend and play each week. Your spot in the league is secured based on this agreement. If your team forfeits or defaults, it directly impacts other teams who have paid to play.

Defaults

A default occurs when your team cannot start with the minimum number of players within 10 minutes of your scheduled game time — meaning no game is played.
Default Consequences:

  • Your team will be charged a $100 default fee, payable within 2 business days.
  • Default fees are passed on to the impacted opponent.
  • If unpaid, your team will be removed and banned from all future Urban Rec events.
  • If you default more than once (even if you pay), your team will be removed from the league.
Forfeits

A forfeit occurs when your team provides a game using players from other teams instead of your registered roster.

  • Forfeit Legit: Opponent agrees to record the actual game result.
  • Forfeit Friendly: Opponent prefers to record the standard forfeit score.

Important:

  • Forfeiting more than once may incur a fee.
  • Forfeiting 3 or more times in a season will result in your team being removed from the league.
Notifying Urban Rec
  • You must notify Urban Rec via email, we will not accept forfeits via social media.
  • 7+ days notice: We will try to reschedule — no guarantees.
  • Before 12pm the day prior: We will arrange a Forfeit Friendly or Legit (opponent unlikely to claim default fee).
  • No notice: Your team will default and be charged the $100 fee.
Scoring Forfeits & Defaults

For any forfeit or default, the match score will be recorded as 1–0 against the forfeiting/defaulting team.

Fun Points:

Forfeiting teams receive 3 fun points.
Defaulting teams receive 1 fun point.

Substitutes

If your team uses players from another team within the league, it will be treated as a forfeit friendly, unless your opponent agrees otherwise.
